The Buccooneers Steel Orchestra was started in 1967 as an un-sponsored band in the beautiful village of Buccoo, Tobago. The band promoted itself by its continuous participation in the Sunday night “Sunday School” and the Easter Buccoo Goat Race.

They took part in many National Panoramas and Steelband Music Festivals and traveled to North America as a result of its performance in 1980 Music Festival. The orchestra has been in the Trinidad & Tobago National Panorama finals for the last six consecutive years.

After campaigning in the Medium category for about 15 years and having won once along with several seconds, thirds and fourth places NLCB Buccooneers has moved into the realm of the large bands.
